Citizenship

 

To be eligible for Canadian citizenship, application requirements include that:

  • You must be a permanent resident.

  • You have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years.

  • You have filed income tax for at least 3 years during the 5 years directly before making your application (where required).

  • If you are between the ages of 18 to 54, you meet the required Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level for English or French.

  • If you are between the ages of 18 to 54, you shall pass a test on your rights, responsibilities and knowledge of Canada.
